This is Hever's latest acquisition which was painted in the early 16th century as a tribute to Henry's mother. The wording at the top says 'Elizabet Mater Henericus 8'.
Also for [info]ladyjanegreyref,  I managed to find a picture very similar to Hever's portrait of Catherine of Aragon on the net. I've cropped the photo so it looks more like the one in the Queens Chamber. The photo of Elizabeth is courtesy of the BBC.

Thanks for posting the picture of Catherine of Aragon. I'm hoping to visit Hever next month and am looking forward to seeing both paintings.

I'm in the shop that day as I'm off on holiday on the 19th. If you do visit you'll have to pop in and find me!!! The grounds open 10.30 and the shop at 11am x

I will make sure I do. Is there only the one shop at Hever? We might be there in the afternoon. Are you there all day?

There's the main shop (where I'll be) and the bookshop, which is by the Rose garden. The shop closes at 5.30 and the grounds close at 6pm, that's when I get to go home! So yeah, all day, 8am - 6pm.

If we go, I'll make sure I stop at the shop to say hello!
